An award for young scientists under 35. It was first announced in 2006 as the ČIS Prize for Young Scientists and has carried the name of Jaroslav Šterzl, a founder of Czech immunology, since 2011. It is awarded annually for the work of the previous year; it is sponsored by the Homunkulus Foundation and organised by ČIS.
Application deadline: 10 November 2026. The awards are presented at the general assembly in December together with the pre-Christmas seminar.
Who can apply (2026)
- the candidate was born after 1 January 1991
- has been a ČIS member since January 2025 or earlier
- is the first author of the article
- is employed by a Czech institution where the work was carried out
- the publication carries the year 2025
- an article may be entered in only one ČIS competition, and only in one year

Send the completed form and a reprint of the article or a PDF to the secretariat (Vídeňská 1083, 142 20 Prague 4) or by email to cis@immunology.cz. Entries are judged by a committee appointed by the ČIS committee.
